SAAS FEE

A Small Family Style Ski Resort With High Mountain Peaks…

Saas Fee is the largest village in the Saas Valley in Valais. It is known as “The Pearl of the Alps”. Located on the south centre of Switzerland on the border of Italy. It’s approximately 2.5 hours drive east from Geneve or northwest of Milan. If going by train and bus from Geneva it will take you around 3.5-4 hours, but it’s a lovely picturesque journey to take.

The village is small with a population of 1800. There’s one main street going through the village where most hotels and restaurants are scattered alongside. This is more of a family-style ski resort and apres ski and nightlife as almost next to none.

For places to stay, you will find many 3-star hotels or apartments throughout the village.

The mountain itself has very high altitude skiing at 3500 m and there are some longer runs to enjoy here. Saas Fee is snowsure and the season goes almost into May. In the area, you also have the nearby glaciers of Dom and Allalinhorn.

The whole ski area is called Saastal and the four places to ski are Saas-Fee, Saas-Grund, Saas-Almagell, Saas-Balen. Saas Fee being the largest area by far.
