DAVOS – KLOSTERS

A Great Area For All Types Of Winter Sports…
Davos – Klosters is one of the largest ski areas in Switzerland it’s also one of our favourite places for skiing.
Its located in the southeast part of Switzerland on the border to Austria. The nearest airport is Zurich and it will take you about 2 hours to drive from here or 2 hours and 30 minutes train journey to get here.
Davos is a larger city more than a ski village. It has a population of 11 000 so there are more things than only skiing going on here.
Davos is also known for hosting an annual meeting for the business elites (WEF).
There’s one long main street where most hotels and restaurants are scattered along, going from the train station Davos Platz to Davos Dorf.
Klosters is a cuter village a ski resort. It’s smaller in size with about 4500 people living here. There are two areas to stay and its either Klosters Platz or Klosters Dorf and it’s a 5-minute drive between them.
From Davos to Klosters its a 15-minute drive or 25-minute train ride. It’s all linked and very accessible with public transport.
Davos-Klosters is a large ski area. It’s more a skier resort and its all-around for all levels of skiers with plenty of wide slopes and some longer runs.
The mountains to ski are Parsenn & Gotschna, Schitzalp, Madrisa, Jakobshorn, Rinerhorn, and Pischa. It’s a nice relaxed ski resort more suited for couples and families. Davos has the livelier nightlife but its still fairly low key.
There is not much Apres Ski going on especially during the week, some weekends get slightly livelier.
A stop at the incredible Igloo is a must for either food and drinks. Or how about spending the night up on the mountain in a jacuzzi under the stars?
