DAVOS – KLOSTERS
A Great Area For All Types Of Winter Sports…
Davos – Klosters is one of the largest ski areas in Switzerland it’s also one of our favourite places for skiing.
Its located in the southeast part of Switzerland on the border to Austria. The nearest airport is Zurich and it will take you about 2 hours to drive from here or an easy train 2 hour and 20 minutes train journey to get here.
Davos is a larger city more than a ski village. It has a population of 11 000 so there are more things than only skiing going on here.
Davos is also known for hosting an annual meeting for the business elites (WEF).
There’s one long main street where most hotels and restaurants are scattered along, going from the train station Davos Platz to Davos Dorf.
Klosters is a cuter village a ski resort. Its smaller in size with about 4500 people living here. There are two areas to stay and its either Klosters Platz or Klosters Dorf and its a 5-minute drive between them.
From Davos its a 15-minute drive or 25-minute train ride. Its all linked and very accessible with public transport.
Davos-Klosters is a large ski area. It’s more a skier resort and its all-around for all levels of skiers with plenty of wide slopes and some longer runs.
The mountains to ski are Parsenn & Gotschna, Schitzalp, Madrisa, Jakobshorn, Rinerhorn, and Pischa. It’s a nice relaxed ski resort more suited for couples and families. Davos has the livelier nightlife but its still fairly low key.

Lovely long red runs down from Parsenn.
And all the runs on the east side of Jakobshorn.
The off-piste route all the way down from Madrisa.
Almost all the high-end hotels have really good restaurants with nice wine on their menus and there is about a dozen of them around.
We stayed at Grischa hotel. Hotel is modern but cosy with a great restaurant and we love the location just by the train station, so very easy access to all other ski areas.
