Ischgl is a small village with a population of around 1500 in the Tyrol just south of St Anton. It’s about 1.5 hours drive west from Innsbruck and 2 hours by train and bus.
The village is upmarket and has a high quantity of 4-star and 5-star hotels, especially for a village of its size.

You will find many options for dining and most hotels have really good restaurants. The quality and standard of food and wine are high, not only for Iscghl but for Austria in general.

There are some very nice hotel bars where you can sip lovely Austrian wines as well.

The ski resort is called the Silvretta Arena. It’s modern and large and its also connected to Samnaun village, so you can ski across into Switzerland. It’s mainly a skiers resort but there are a few lovely places for some off-piste snowboarding. Especially at the eastern side by Palinkopt.

Ischgl is a big après-ski and party place and very much male-dominated.
But there are plenty of upmarket hotels with spas. So a great destination for couples as well to enjoy some romantic time.
