The island is only a 45-minute ferry ride away from the very famous Santorini and a around 5 hours from Athens with Seajets speedboats. We do recommend to travel from Santorini, as the sea can get very rough and the journey from Athens could be quite unpleasant. Alternatively, if you have unlimited time, there are larger ferries going to Folegandros, but with twice as long travel time, although you will have a pleasant journey unaffected by wind and waves.

The Chora has many cute spots for food and drinks and it’s very romantic at night. There are plenty of small boutique shops selling original, handmade items by local designers.
Get lost in the picturesque streets, decorated with beautiful flowers and take in the architecture of the traditional looking white and blue churches…

Folegandros has a good amount of beaches for its size. Majority of the beaches are scattered around the islands western side, either near the port or at the center of the island by Agali. There’s also harder to get to beaches at the northern end of the island.

The most popular ones are easy enough to get to, but with a little effort, you can find more secluded places where you can relax and enjoy some much needed quiet time…
